Location: Hybrid (In-office Wednesdays & Thursdays)

Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Job Summary

The Provisioning Technician is responsible for configuring and provisioning network services in a complex, multi-layered environment. This is a fully desk-based role requiring heavy use of command-line interfaces (CLI) to support Layer 2 and emerging Layer 3 services. The role involves high-volume task execution and requires strong routing knowledge and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision and configure network services primarily at Layer 2, with growing involvement in Layer 3.
• Perform all configurations via CLI (no GUI) across network devices.
• Support installs, change orders, augments, maintenance configurations, and network updates.
• Manage a high volume of tasks (300 400/month) with accuracy and efficiency.
• Work across a complex, multi-network environment spanning multiple regions.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to support network changes and enhancements.
• Assist with evolving responsibilities, including wave/ethernet provisioning and switch augmentations.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with CLI-based network configuration.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 networking; exposure to Layer 3 concepts preferred.
• Experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
• Experience working with network equipment such as Cisco, Ciena, or Brocade.
• Strong routing and troubleshooting skills in complex network environments.
• Ability to manage high workloads and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility for occasional after-hours work (approved overtime).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Juniper (not required; training will be provided).
• Experience in high-volume provisioning or telecom environments.

Work Environment

• Fully desk-based role; no field work required.
• Remote work with required in-office presence twice per week.
• All equipment accessed remotely via CLI.
