Job#: 3028523 Job Description: Role OverviewThis team owns the
maintenance, modernization, and enhancement of approximately 60 mission-critical batch jobs, roughly
half of which are built using .NET and SSIS. These jobs support core business operations and require a high level of stability, reliability, and performance.
We are seeking a
hands-on Senior .NET / SSIS Developer in the Austin, TX area to help drive this effort. The role focuses on supporting existing batch workflows, enhancing and modernizing legacy implementations, and ensuring reliable execution of scheduled processes. This is a
senior-level individual contributor role with immediate delivery expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, enhance, and modernize mission-critical batch jobs, including .NET and SSIS-based workflows
- Develop and support SSIS packages used for batch processing and data movement
- Support and enhance SQL Server-based batch jobs and scheduled processes
- Analyze, refactor, and optimize legacy batch jobs for performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Write and tune complex SQL queries and stored procedures
- Perform SQL Server performance tuning and optimization
- Monitor, support, and troubleshoot production batch execution
- Perform root cause analysis for batch failures, data issues, and processing errors
- Ensure reliable execution of scheduled and automated jobs
- Produce clear documentation for batch logic, SSIS packages, and data flows
- Collaborate with QA, production support, and full-time engineering teams
Required Skills & Experience- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong, hands-on experience with SSIS package development, support, and enhancement
- Strong SQL Server expertise, including:
- Complex queries
- Stored procedures
- SQL performance tuning
- Proven experience building and supporting SQL-based batch processing systems
- Solid working experience with .NET / C#, particularly in backend or batch-driven applications
- Experience supporting scheduled batch jobs in production environments
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, especially for batch failures and data issues
- Ability to work independently on mission-critical systems with minimal oversight
Preferred (Nice to Have)- Experience with batch job schedulers such as:
- SQL Server Agent
- Control-M
- AutoSys
- Experience working with legacy batch processing systems
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in financial services or other regulated environments
