Our client seeks a Release Manager to coordinate and support software releases across application development and technology operations. The role manages timelines, approvals, risks, and stakeholder communications while aligning activities to SDLC standards. The position requires strong organization, expert written communication, Jira proficiency, and the ability to drive releases forward and resolve ad hoc issues. The Release Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep deployments on schedule and maintain quality.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50.00 to $55.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Drive end-to-end release execution to ensure on-time deployments with required approvals.
  • Own and actively push releases forward with assertive coordination and follow-through.
  • Secure and track release approvals from stakeholders and leadership.
  • Communicate timelines, risks, scope, and expectations proactively and clearly.
  • Coordinate closely with Application Development, TechOps, QA, and cross-functional teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ad hoc release issues as they arise.
  • Align all release activities with SDLC standards and established processes.
  • Support creation and distribution of release notes, leveraging queries and automation when applicable.
  • Maintain awareness of defect lifecycle, priority and severity impacts, and release risk to guide deploy decisions.
  • Partner with teams to address issues efficiently and avoid unnecessary release delays.
  • Synthesize technical and non-technical details for diverse audiences, including executive stakeholders.

Experience Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the defect lifecycle, resolution paths, and release coordination.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proficiency with Jira for ticketing, workflows, and project tracking.
  • Ability to assess and communicate release risk and remediation options.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for executive-facing updates.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across multiple workstreams.
  • Ability to influence and redirect stakeholders while maintaining rapport.
  • Calm problem solving under pressure during critical release windows.
  • Confluence experience (preferred).
  • Experience creating release notes via queries and exposure to automation (preferred).
