Description: Job Overview The AI Specialist will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions to enhance law enforcement business processes and decision-making. This role will focus on building a natural language query solution for CLEMIS data, enabling authorized users to search and retrieve data using everyday language. The specialist will also support future expansion to predictive analytics using RMS data and will be responsible for data extraction, transformation, masking, and cloud deployment within AWS.
Key Responsibilities - Design and implement AI/ML solutions, including natural language search and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify use cases, gather requirements, and deliver AI-powered applications.
- Build a solution that enables law enforcement personnel to query CLEMIS data using everyday language instead of SQL or traditional search.
- Extract and migrate data from on-prem Oracle and SQL Server databases to AWS cloud.
- Transform and mask sensitive information (CJIS, PII) as required.
- Store data in optimized formats for AI/ML workloads (e.g., vector database like Pinecone).
- Enable advanced RAG capabilities using AWS Bedrock.
- Use industry-standard AI models such as Claude or AWS Titan/Nova.
- Support future integration of RMS data for predictive analytics.
Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development and deployment.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with public safety systems such as CAD, RMS, and FRMS.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud technologies, including S3, EC2, SageMaker, and AWS Bedrock.
- Experience with vector databases and RAG architectures.
- Strong programming skills in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with data extraction from Oracle and SQL Server, ETL/ELT, and data pipeline development.
- Familiarity with CJIS and PII compliance, including data masking techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Security Requirements - Must be able to handle CJIS and other law enforcement-sensitive data.
- Experience with secure data handling, masking, and compliance best practices.
Preferred Skills - Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and large-scale data processing.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
- Experience with Azure ML Studio or Azure Databricks.
- Previous work in public safety or government AI initiatives.
