Contractor Engineer will be part of the
Network Operations team, responsible for supporting virtual cable modem termination systems (vCMTS) and Remote PHY (RPHY) deployments across the country.
Key Responsibilities- Platform stand-up: Software installation, system configuration, and ongoing network maintenance.
- Change implementation: Execute upgrades, risk management, and automation (Python, Bash).
- Problem management: Identify recurring service-impacting issues and collaborate with development teams for long-term solutions.
- Incident mitigation: Participate in on-call rotations to resolve outages, including weekends and holidays.
- New product integration: Work with Product and Project Management to operationalize new technologies.
- Collaboration: Partner with regional engineering teams to improve reliability and build automation tools.
Required Experience- Production operations: 3+ years in a 24/7 environment.
- Unix/Linux expertise: Strong system administration background.
- Scripting and automation: Proficiency in Bash, Python, and automation frameworks.
- Network troubleshooting: Hands-on experience with Juniper, Arista, or Cisco devices (CCNA/JNCIA optional).
- Server hardware/software: Proven troubleshooting skills and experience with system builds/replacements.
- DevOps tools: Exposure to Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, and Git.
- IT service monitoring: Experience defining, implementing, and monitoring IT services is a plus.
