RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support and advance automated testing efforts within an Agile development environment. This role focuses on ensuring quality across modern digital platforms and solutions by building, executing, and maintaining robust automated testing frameworks.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will work closely with software engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to validate software releases, support continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and ensure a high-quality, defect-free user experience. This position plays a key role in owning and evolving QA best practices across an expanding portfolio of digital products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform advanced, hands-on software quality assurance and test automation within Agile product teams
* Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks aligned with industry best practices
* Integrate, configure, and execute QA automation platforms and tools within CI/CD pipelines
* Validate software functionality, performance, security, and usability prior to release
* Support configuration management processes, including version control, change control, and build management
* Execute comprehensive testing strategies, including: Functional, Integration, System Integration, Regression, End-to-End, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
* Perform testing across browsers, devices, operating systems, and environments
* Test web services and APIs using tools such as SOAPUI, including XML, WSDL, and endpoint validation across environments
* Collaborate closely with developers and product teams to review code, track defects, and ensure timely resolution
* Independently evaluate software performance against business and technical requirements
* Apply secure testing practices, including validation of SSL/TLS, encryption, and secure implementations
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent relevant technical experience
* Advanced hands-on experience with one or more test automation platforms or frameworks, such as: Selenium, Selenide, Appium, Cypress, or QTP/UFT
* Strong understanding of QA automation concepts, tools, platforms, and frameworks
* Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages, such as: Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, VB, Ruby, or equivalent
* Experience testing web-based applications and services, including APIs and service integrations
* Solid understanding of application servers such as Apache Tomcat or WebSphere
* Familiarity with modern web technologies, browsers, and web security concepts
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Preferred Qualifications:
* Professional experience working with enterprise-scale IT systems and software product teams
* Experience with QA and DevOps-related tools, such as: Sauce Labs, Jenkins, Git/GitLab, Maven, Eclipse IDE, TestNG, or similar
* Experience testing enterprise applications such as: ERP platforms (e.g., SAP), Java or .NET web applications, or content management systems
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes
* Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, RUP, or hybrid development methodologies
* Knowledge of secure testing practices and common application vulnerabilities
* Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
* Proven ability to manage priorities, multitask effectively, and communicate professionally with stakeholders

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
