Role Summary

A Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the systems and infrastructure that enable organizations to collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data. The role focuses on transforming raw data into reliable, usable datasets that support analytics, reporting, and decision-making.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

Design and Build Data Pipelines
- Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources
Data Infrastructure & Architecture
- Create and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and database systems
Data Integration
- Integrate data from APIs, databases, and external systems into centralized platforms
Ensure Data Quality
- Implement validation, cleansing, and monitoring processes to maintain data accuracy
Optimize Performance
- Improve pipeline efficiency, scalability, and data access speed
Collaboration
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to support business needs
Automation & Monitoring
- Automate workflows and monitor pipelines to ensure reliability and availability

🛠️ Required Skills

Technical Skills

Programming: Python, SQL (mandatory), Java/Scala (optional)
Databases: Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) + NoSQL (MongoDB, etc.)
Data Tools: ETL tools/Informatica, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Data Modeling & Warehousing concepts

Soft Skills

🎓 Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience with large-scale data processing systems and data pipelines
Familiarity with business intelligence or analytics tools is a plus
