Infrastructure Project Manager (Contract-to-Hire)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and deliver complex IT infrastructure initiatives. This is an individual contributor role responsible for managing high-impact projects with a budget of up to $2M, requiring strong stakeholder engagement, cross-functional coordination, and disciplined project execution.

The role will manage initiatives including data center migrations, network upgrades, cloud implementations, and hardware refresh programs, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects with budgets up to $2M
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, and financial forecasts
• Coordinate cross-functional technical teams and external vendors without direct people management
• Drive stakeholder alignment through clear communication, status reporting, and expectation management
• Track project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee testing, validation, and quality assurance activities
• Manage vendor performance, contracts, and deliverables
• Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned to support continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure domains, including:
• Data centers
• Networks
• Cloud platforms
• Hardware lifecycle management
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Planview, Smartsheet, or MS Project
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, ITIL, or PRINCE2 certification
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
• Vendor management and contract negotiation experience
• Knowledge of IT security, compliance, and regulatory standards
