Senior Java Engineer

Experience: 10+ years

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical contributor and subject matter expert within a complex enterprise environment. This individual will design, develop, test, and support scalable applications while partnering closely with product and engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges.

The ideal candidate brings deep Java/Spring expertise, modern front-end development experience, strong knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices, and experience working across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, test, and optimize enterprise applications and supporting technologies.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Develop secure, high-quality applications following established SDLC/PDLC and secure coding standards.
• Create technical design documentation and participate in architecture and solution discussions.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and JSON-based services.
• Perform unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Conduct peer code reviews and promote software engineering standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and other technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Support CI/CD, DevOps, test automation, databases, and application environments.
• Provide production support, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and service requests.
• Operate as a senior individual contributor with limited supervision and independent technical judgment.

Required Technical Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering/application development experience.
• Strong Java development experience, preferably Java 8+.
• Strong Spring ecosystem experience, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, and Spring Security.
• Front-end development experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, including Oracle.
• REST APIs and JSON integrations.
• CI/CD and DevOps experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab.
• Secure coding and application security practices.
• Unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC/PDLC, software engineering principles, and data modeling.

Preferred / Additional Experience

• AWS and cloud technologies.
• WebSphere Application Server or Liberty and MQ.
• Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• NgRx and RxJS.
• Connect and shell scripting.
• Python development experience.
• Agentic AI development tools, including Claude Code.
• Experience incorporating AI-assisted development into enterprise software engineering workflows.
