Job Title: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Consultant

Location: Washington, D.C.

Schedule: 3-Days Onsite & 2-Days Remote

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute process improvement projects using DMAIC, DMADV, and RIE methodologies in alignment with the ASQ Black Belt Body of Knowledge.
  • Conduct process mapping and analysis to identify key areas of inefficiency and recommend improvement actions.
  • Develop optimized workflows and work with stakeholders to implement changes across Navy Medicine commands.
  • Conduct monthly mentoring sessions for Green Belt practitioners and support knowledge transfer and certification reviews.
  • Review certification submissions for technical accuracy and alignment.
  • Deliver training courses on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies via in-person, virtual, and asynchronous formats.
  • Produce detailed Process Analysis Reports documenting current workflows, identified inefficiencies, and recommended improvements.
  • Support integration of Get Real Get Better (GRGB) methodologies into all improvement activities.
  • Contribute to the development of the Continuous Improvement Framework outlining methods and tools for sustained process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in a DoD or military health system environment.
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant field experience in Continuous Process Improvement / Lean Six Sigma within the healthcare industry.
  • Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with continuous active practice since certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in all elements of the ASQ Black Belt Body of Knowledge (BOK) or equivalent industry-recognized quality organization (e.g., NCQA).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in successfully accomplishing performance improvement requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Teams, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access), Power BI, and Adobe Acrobat.
