Job Title: Desktop Support III - Software Patch Coordinator
Location: Madison, WI 53703
99% remote (onsite for training first week, then onsite once per quarter) Contract length: 2-3 months, extension possible
Schedule: 40 hrs; Mon-Fri
Pay: $21/hr to $26/hr, DOE
Job Overview:
This position falls under IT Support but does NOT actually do any desktop remediation, updates, or support. It is focused on the identification and remediation of software vulnerabilities at the administration level. DHS does not need the person to have any desktop support experience, as this is more clerical with a technical understanding than it is break/fix.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with Vulnerability Management. This position will provide timely IT support to DHS staff so they can more efficiently support critical DHS initiatives
- Assist with operational software updates/upgrades of desktop systems. DHS tracks and maintains authorized software at supported levels
- Assist with the alignment of installed software with current software standards and authorizations
Required Skills (at least 2 yrs of exp):
- Experienced at tracking multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experienced at tracking effort through a ticket system
- Experienced at vulnerability research
- Experience generating and interpreting reports
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with use of desktop tools such as Ivanti or SCCM
- Experience navigating vulnerability notifications such as CISA and performing crosswalk comparisons
