Job Description
We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Sybase ASE and MySQL and a proven ability to design, implement, migrate, and support enterprise database platforms across the full lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and support Sybase ASE and MySQL across production, non-production, development, and disaster recovery tiers.
- Collaborate with clients and application teams on design, capacity planning, build, and rollout activities.
- Lead and support the Sybase ASE 16.1 upgrade initiative, including planning, testing, and implementation.
- Contribute to the enterprise Sybase exit program, including migrations, validations, and transition to target platforms.
- Execute production support, incident management, root cause analysis, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and patching.
- Participate in on-call rotation and meet response SLAs for critical incidents.
- Use Foglight to monitor health, identify performance issues, and act on alerts.
- Maintain database security standards, access controls, and compliance configurations.
- Produce and maintain runbooks, build guides, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on DBA experience administering Sybase ASE and MySQL in enterprise environments.
- Working knowledge of Sybase ASE 16.x architecture, replication, and upgrade procedures.
- Proficiency with Foglight database monitoring and alerting.
- Strong performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity management skills.
- Ability to support and engage clients directly in design and delivery activities.
- Effective written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort with on-call production support rotation.
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Perl, and shell.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with database migration programs and decommissioning legacy platforms.
- Familiarity with enterprise change, incident, and problem management frameworks.

- Schedule: Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
- Hours per Day: 8. Labor Type: Technical.
