Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of IT Consultant in its Information Technologies department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.

Job Summary:

Designs, modifies, codes, tests, debugs, and documents plant control/process/security systems and related software including system interfaces, applications, operating systems components, software tools, and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 24-hour system support of plant process and security systems via call outs. Performs data backups of plant process and security computer systems.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on plant process and security computer systems and data acquisition equipment and system hardware. At some sites, this role may be performed by Maintenance-I&C personnel. Designs and maintains operations technology (OT) system network and associated components associated with plant process computer systems. Manages and conducts system troubleshooting activities for failures in plant process systems. Conducts system performance monitoring related to system ownership of plant process systems.
  • Performs project management and system integrator activities for new, replacement, or upgrades of plant process and security systems ensuring projects come in on time, within budget and are in compliance with the nuclear engineering configuration and control procedures. Oversees complex projects requiring a wide-range of specialized technical knowledge such as complex database migration, operating system resource management and interface development, physical and cyber security methods, software quality control testing and analysis, and multi-language application development.
  • Prepares and executes disaster recovery plans for plant process and security computer systems. Implements plans required to ensure OT applications and equipment meet regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Solves complex or ambiguous systems software engineering issues. Analyzes, develops, and implements solutions for system enhancements. Conducts a wide-range of quality-control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Analyzes designs, creates, and implements complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validations checks, organization, and security.
  • Performs other duties specific to plant type (e.g. Nuclear, Fossil), including serving as an advocate for safe operations and continuous improvement and implementing the Corrective Action Program for site OT.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience required. Desired: Master's Degree.
  • 3+ years of professional IT work experience related to the job responsibilities listed above.
  • Desired: Nuclear or utility experience.

$100,000 - 150,000 annually
