This contract work will run until approximately 4/30/2026. We are looking for someone that could support 15-20 hours per week. Most work can be done offline with the exception of a few hours per week to meet with the client.

Seeking a Senior Ansible Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automation solutions that improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency across enterprise infrastructure. This role will develop Ansible playbooks/roles, standardize configuration management, integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, and partner closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, and reusable automation patterns.
Automate configuration tasks across F5/SolarWinds/Cisco environments.
Build and maintain inventories (static/dynamic), variables, templates (Jinja2), and secrets management patterns.
Integrate Ansible automation into CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Implement automation standards: code quality, testing, versioning, and documentation.
Experience with Ansible Automation Platform / AWX / Tower.
Troubleshoot automation failures and improve reliability/observability (logs, metrics, run outcomes).
Required Qualifications
8+ years of hands-on experience with Ansible in enterprise environments (or equivalent automation experience).
Strong proficiency in YAML, Jinja2, and Git-based workflows (branching, PRs, code review).
Familiarity with REST APIs and automation integration patterns.
Comfortable working in regulated/controlled environments with change management practices.
Strong communication skills with a background of extracting requirements from other Engineers.
Ability to work with other Engineers and build out the full scope of work.
Strongly Preferred Skills
Experience with network automation (F5/SolarWinds/Cisco).
Experience automating certificate renewals.
