· The Agency is looking for a motivated Systems Architect III that will provide innovative solutions within a diverse Enterprise environment with multiple, cloud services and on-premises infrastructure components. The candidate will have expert level troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze current technologies used within our organization and determine ways to improve performance and provide stability to backend services. A high-level of soft skills in collaborating with Information Technology professionals within the organization to ensure the proper infrastructure components are designed, delivered, managed, available, working as designed for projects or operations, and that best practices and organizational IT policies are being followed. The candidate should also be capable of applying various methodologies and frameworks when leading modernization or upgrading initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
· The Systems Architect III will provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the administration, maintenance and support of numerous backend systems that support the agencies application development, design, security, integration and desktop infrastructure. They will have responsibilities in directing and managing the workload of team members and managing the on-call support functions for the operations team. The candidate must be able to gather information from team members constructively, fostering collaboration and trust rather than conflict. This role requires both guiding the team and contributing directly to technical problem-solving.
· The individual will work closely with Information Technology professionals to ensure technical components are available for projects and working properly. Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates or new services. They will be well versed in projecting for possible challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources, and scope changes to the project. They will work closely with the supervisor and project teams to successfully monitor the progress of initiatives, provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions, and define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution. They will have the ability to direct a small team in completing tasks, improving on operational support or maintenance, and document processes as needed. The candidate must consistently demonstrate initiative, accountability, and the ability to communicate progress without requiring repeated follow-up and maintain hands-on technical involvement to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
· This position will be a technical lead for our backend infrastructure services. These services or systems include areas within the Microsoft Services arena including but not limited to Active Directory (AD) services including ADFS, Group Policy, Distributed File Services, Azure subscriptions, DHCP, and networking protocols and services. This person will be responsible for third (3rd) level technical support functions for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), monitoring tools, multi-factor authentication, storage and backup, Power Shell scripting, and numerous customized off-the-shelf applications that have been implemented at the Agency. A high-level understanding of networking protocols and network connectivity will be required.
· The candidate must demonstrate both technical depth and the ability to lead modernization initiatives, ensuring the agency’s infrastructure evolves strategically by partnering with external agency DOA and other third-party vendors, while wearing multiple hats across team management, project management, and hands on technical execution.

· The technical lead will have experience analyzing new and current technologies used within an organization with the ability to document and recommend solutions to improve performance, stability, and cost savings to the agency. The candidate should also be prepared to take the responsibilities of leading projects when required and apply various project methodologies to ensure successful delivery while also working directly with the team.
· The qualified candidate will have experience leading a project team as a technical expert in system implementation, working with project managers and leadership to set project goals, identifying subject matter experts, providing technical best practices to help in decision making, and the lead technical support for different projects and systems.
· Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to provide clear and timely status updates to Agency management and contribute proactively to the collaboration meetings. The candidate should demonstrate accountability by taking ownership of outcomes, recognize areas for improvement, and fostering a solutions-oriented approach.
· The candidate will have expert level system administration skills for Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory Administration, and other MS core services like Group Policy, DFS, DHCP, DNS, to manage, monitor, and support our Agency Managed Application Servers. The candidate must be comfortable working hands-on with systems while guiding the team strategically. The candidate must have high-level knowledge of Omnissa Horizon and vSphere with proven experience in design, deployment, and troubleshooting of virtual desktop and virtualization environments.
· The candidate will be well versed in the creation, support, and maintenance of certificates for our agency core systems, 3rd party integrations, and other authentication or authorization service needs.
