Summary

Product Owner with (Clinical / Pediatric Domain)
Philadelphia, PA Onsite

We are seeking an experienced onsite Product Owner to work onsite and serve as the primary bridge between client stakeholders and the delivery team. This role is critical to ensuring business priorities, clinical workflows, and technical delivery remain tightly aligned throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong stakeholder management skills, deep experience with Agile delivery, and the ability to translate complex clinical requirements into clear, actionable product backlog items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between client stakeholders (clinical leaders, operational teams, and business owners) and the delivery teams.
  • Facilitate ongoing discovery discussions to understand business objectives, clinical and pediatric workflow nuances, and regulatory considerations.
  • Capture, clarify, and continuously refine business priorities to ensure they are accurately represented in the product backlog.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations by providing clear visibility into scope, trade offs, and delivery timelines.
  • Own the definition, refinement, and prioritization of epics, features, and user stories.
  • Break down complex clinical and operational requirements into well structured, testable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Lead regular backlog grooming sessions to maintain a sprint ready backlog aligned to team capacity (typically 35 - 42 story points per sprint).
  • Ensure backlog items are aligned with clinical safety, pediatric usability considerations, and downstream operational impact.
  • Partner closely with Scrum Masters, development teams, UX/design, and QA to plan sprint scope and sequencing.
  • Prioritize sprint commitments based on business value, clinical risk, and dependencies.
  • Ensure sprint objectives consistently reflect stakeholder priorities while remaining achievable for the team.
  • Be available during sprint execution to answer questions, clarify requirements, and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Review and provide formal sign off on designs, functional specifications, and incrementally delivered features.
  • Validate that solutions align with intended workflows, usability standards, and real world clinical scenarios.
  • Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defining acceptance criteria, reviewing results, and approving releases.
  • Partner with QA and stakeholders to triage defects, drive resolution, and make informed go/no go decisions.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to healthcare industry standards, patient safety considerations, and relevant regulatory or compliance requirements.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and end users to continuously improve product outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize delivery processes, backlog quality, and stakeholder collaboration.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong hands on experience owning and maintaining a product backlog in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with clinical, pediatric, or healthcare stakeholders.
  • Proven experience translating complex business and workflow requirements into epics and user stories.
  • Comfortable working onsite and engaging face to face with clients and delivery teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience supporting healthcare IT solutions (EHR, clinical applications, or pediatric care systems).
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows, care delivery models, or hospital operations.
  • Prior experience participating in or leading UAT with clinical users.
