Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Strategist with a strong background in Enterprise Data Strategy, Data Architecture, and Information Management to help shape and advance our organization's enterprise data vision.
This role will partner closely with business and technology leaders to define target-state data capabilities, establish governance frameworks, and drive modernization of enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, governance, integration, quality, and cloud-based data transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing strategic roadmaps, defining architectural standards, and ensuring enterprise data assets are managed effectively to support business objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term technology goals.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Strategy
  • Define, refine, and support execution of the enterprise data strategy aligned with business priorities, regulatory obligations, and technology roadmaps.
  • Identify opportunities to improve enterprise data capabilities, operating models, governance practices, and architecture standards.
  • Develop strategic data roadmaps that support organizational growth, digital transformation, and analytics initiatives.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align data initiatives with enterprise objectives.
Enterprise Data Architecture
  • Design and maintain enterprise data architecture frameworks, standards, principles, and target-state blueprints.
  • Lead architecture activities including:
    • Conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
    • Data flow and integration design
    • Data lineage and traceability
    • Information lifecycle management
  • Establish scalable and reusable architectural patterns across enterprise platforms and domains.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable data architecture solutions and implementation guidance.
Data Platform Modernization
  • Guide modernization initiatives for enterprise data platforms, including cloud-aligned architectures and modern data ecosystems.
  • Evaluate existing data environments and recommend improvements to architecture, tools, processes, and governance models.
  • Support enterprise adoption of scalable integration frameworks, reusable data services, and distributed data architectures.
  • Drive modernization efforts involving cloud data platforms, enterprise analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
Data Governance & Information Management
  • Define and promote best practices for:
    • Data Governance
    • Metadata Management
    • Master and Reference Data Management
    • Data Quality Management
    • Data Security and Privacy
  • Establish stewardship models, governance frameworks, quality controls, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with compliance, risk, and security teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and governance requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with business leaders, data owners, application teams, architects, engineers, analysts, and project managers.
  • Facilitate architecture reviews, governance discussions, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Produce architecture documentation, standards, design artifacts, and decision records to ensure consistency and traceability.
  • Provide guidance to delivery teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture objectives.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Information Systems
    • Data Management
    • Information Technology
    • Related technical discipline
Experience & Technical Expertise
  • Strong experience in Enterprise Data Strategy, Data Architecture, and Information Management within complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise data strategies and transformation roadmaps.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Enterprise Data Modeling
    • Canonical Data Models
    • Data Integration Architecture
    • Metadata Management
    • Data Lifecycle Management
  • Experience designing and implementing:
    • Data Governance Frameworks
    • Data Quality Programs
    • Data Stewardship Models
    • Information Management Standards
  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies.
  • Experience with data warehousing, enterprise analytics, and modern data ecosystem architectures.
  • Expertise in:
    • APIs and Integration Services
    • Event-Driven Architectures
    • ETL/ELT Processes
    • Distributed Data Architectures
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into practical architecture standards and implementation roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of privacy, security, risk, and compliance considerations related to enterprise data.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile, Hybrid, or enterprise-scale delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and data governance platforms.
  • Experience supporting cloud data modernization initiatives and enterprise analytics transformation programs.
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence, reporting, data visualization, and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Experience leading governance councils, architecture review boards, and strategic planning workshops.
