Overview:
We are looking for a Junior Web Developer with an interest in Digital Accessibility to help build and maintain accessible web applications. In this role, you will work with developers and designers to ensure websites and applications meet WCAG and ADA accessibility standards, creating inclusive digital experiences for all users.
Responsibilities:Develop and maintain accessible web applicationsEnsure websites comply with WCAG and ADA accessibility guidelinesPerform accessibility testing and resolve usability issuesWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented codeParticipate in code reviews and team collaboration
Requirements:Associate degree or coursework in Computer Science or related fieldKnowledge of Object-Oriented Programming conceptsExperience with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C#, or C++ (2 years)Basic understanding of SQL and databases Familiarity with Windows or Linux environmentsStrong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills:Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptUnderstanding of WCAG, ARIA, or Section 508 accessibility standardsExperience with .NET or Java-based applicationsFamiliarity with accessibility testing tools such as Level Access.
