Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician
Location: Charlotte, NC- onsite Duration: 6 month rolling contract- no end date, ongoing assignment
Rate: $20-25/hr
Shift: 1st Shift, hours 6am-2:30pm ESTJob Summary:The primary purpose of the
Building Maintenance Technician is to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all company facilities and warehouses.
Position Responsibilities :
- Complete daily walkthroughs and inspections of buildings, infrastructure and utilities using pre-established check sheets.
- Operate forklifts and hand-trucks.
- Execute building maintenance, to include but not limited to replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles and doorknobs, minor plumbing repairs, carpentry, and painting.
- Building maintenance workers must possess a very varied skill set; they can be expected to handle electrical install, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, painting, masonry, roofing, HVAC systems, and many other issues that arise in a building.
- Verify all required parts and materials are available to complete the work assigned.
- Verify completion of work orders and sign-off once verified.
- Work with the Maintenance Parts Coordinator to order all parts and supplies needed for building maintenance.
- Ensure assigned PM's and checklists are completed each month.
- Maintain clean work areas for building maintenance department.
- Ensure building maintenance storage areas are kept clean and organized.
- Maintain a professional manner when working and communicating with all company personnel.
- Act as trouble-shooter when problems arise in the department.
- Notify maintenance manager when problems arise that cannot be quickly corrected.
- Perform duties in a manner that promotes efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Drive company vehicle to purchase supplies and materials.
- Complete other assigned tasks as needed.
Key Position Competencies:- Possess a varied skill set - electrical, plumbing, painting, masonry, roofing, HVAC systems, and many other issues that arise in a building.
- Ability to communicate with all team personnel in English.
- Organizational skills to coordinate multiple projects and activities at one time.
- Basic knowledge of math and measurement.
- Basic understanding of safety principles and enforce safety standards.
- Ability to provide and competently use the tools necessary for building maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read and understand written directions and manuals.
- Experience in manufacturing environment.
- Valid Driver's License
