Workday Integration Consultant

Introduction:

The Workday Integration Consultant will be responsible for supporting and expanding enterprise Workday integration initiatives across HR Technology, Finance, Procurement, and other cross-functional business units. This role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining complex integrations between Workday and multiple internal as well as third-party systems.

Responsibilities:

Workday Integration Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday integrations supporting HR, Payroll, Finance, and Procurement systems.
• Build and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, PECI, WECI, PICOF, and custom integration frameworks.
• Develop integration logic using XSLT (XSLT 2.0 / XSLT 3.0) for transformation and data processing.
• Implement API-based integrations using Workday SOAP and REST APIs for secure and scalable data exchange.

Integration Architecture & Solution Design

• Collaborate with HR Technology teams, Finance teams, and IT stakeholders to design end-to-end integration solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Define field mappings, transformation rules, and data validation processes to ensure accurate data flow between systems.
• Support Workday integration architecture by implementing best practices for data governance, security, and scalability.

System Integration & Data Flow Management

• Integrate Workday with third-party vendors, payroll systems, benefits platforms, identity management systems, and financial systems.
• Ensure accurate data synchronization between upstream and downstream systems.
• Optimize existing integrations to improve performance, reliability, and data quality.

Testing, Troubleshooting & Production Support

• Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and end-to-end validation of integrations.
• Troubleshoot integration failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
• Provide Level 3 production support for Workday integrations and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
• Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement permanent solutions.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor integration performance and proactively identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Develop and maintain documentation for integration design, workflows, and deployment procedures.
• Participate in change management processes and create well-documented change requests.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication

• Work closely with global stakeholders, HRIS teams, payroll teams, and external vendors to ensure integration success.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream application teams to mitigate risks and resolve dependencies.
• Support ongoing Workday implementation and enhancement projects.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience working with Workday integrations and enterprise integration frameworks.
• Strong experience in Workday Studio integration development.
• Hands-on experience with Workday APIs (SOAP and REST).
• Experience developing integration transformations using XSLT 2.0 / XSLT 3.0.
• Experience working with Workday Core Connectors (PECI, WECI, PICOF) and EIB.
• Experience integrating Workday Payroll systems including US Payroll and Global Payroll frameworks.
• Experience working with Workday Projects module (implementation experience preferred).
• Experience working with ServiceNow or other ITSM tools for incident and change management.
• Strong experience in integration debugging, log analysis, and issue resolution.
