Duration: 3-month contract

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-focused UI Designer to join a design systems team supporting a suite of digital products across web, mobile, and device-based platforms. This role will play a critical part in building and maintaining a centralized design system documentation site that enables designers and engineers to apply consistent design standards at scale. The ideal candidate brings strong visual design skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to write and structure clear, user-friendly documentation. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with senior designers, engineers, and program managers to ensure design system content is accurate, accessible, and easy to navigate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Migrate, edit, and format written documentation for design system foundations, components, and patterns across multiple platforms (web, mobile, and device-based experiences)
  • Create visual assets, diagrams, and annotated examples to clearly communicate design system guidelines and usage
  • Maintain and continuously improve the design system documentation site, ensuring content accuracy, consistency, and usability
  • Audit existing documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated content and proactively resolve issues
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and program managers to align documentation with current design and development standards
  • Organize and structure content to improve discoverability and usability for cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to evolving documentation templates, standards, and workflows to enhance team efficiency
  • Support additional visual design and documentation-related tasks as needed

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX design, visual design, content design, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Figma or similar modern design tools
  • Excellent writing, editing, and formatting skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation
  • Experience working with or quickly learning content management systems (CMS)
  • Strong attention to detail and visual quality
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Communications, or equivalent experience
  • Portfolio showcasing strong visual design and documentation work
  • Basic understanding of front-end concepts (HTML, CSS, or design-to-code workflows)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with design systems, component libraries, or structured documentation
  • Familiarity with design tokens and component-based workflows
  • Experience designing or documenting across multiple platforms (web, mobile, or device-based interfaces)
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
  • Experience maintaining or contributing to a design system documentation site or internal wiki
