Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer / Analytics Consultant to lead the design, development, and automation of end-to-end business intelligence and reporting solutions.

The ideal candidate is a confident, self-driven technical professional with advanced experience in Microsoft Power BI, data modeling, ETL, Python, GitHub, and analytics development. This individual will independently lead complex initiatives, develop scalable reporting solutions, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

This role will be responsible for creating and enhancing Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, automated data pipelines, and reusable analytics assets while helping establish strong standards for data quality, security, governance, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Design and automate end-to-end reporting and analytics development processes.
  • Build, test, and support automated ETL pipelines supporting Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards.
  • Automate data validation, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
  • Develop automated refresh, monitoring, error-handling, and data-quality controls.
  • Integrate and transform data from enterprise data sources using reusable and scalable ingestion patterns.
  • Design and optimize Power BI data models and semantic models for performance and scalability.
  • Implement appropriate data quality, lineage, security, governance, and documentation controls.
  • Optimize metadata, semantic models, and business definitions to improve AI-driven analytics and natural-language query experiences.
  • Develop scalable reporting solutions and reusable data assets that enable self-service analytics.
  • Analyze complex, large-scale analytics challenges requiring evaluation of multiple business and technical factors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Independently drive complex analytics initiatives from requirements through implementation.
  • Collaborate and consult with business leaders, technical teams, and other stakeholders to develop effective solutions.
  • Ensure solutions align with applicable organizational policies, procedures, standards, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of analytics or analytics development experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through a combination of work experience, consulting, education, training, or military experience.
  • 4+ years of Tableau and Power BI experience.
  • 4+ years of ETL experience.
  • 4+ years of complex data analysis experience.
  • Advanced hands-on experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
  • Experience with data modeling and analytics solution documentation.
  • Experience with GitHub and source-control practices.
  • Experience using Python for analytics, automation, or data-processing solutions.
  • Experience developing automated processes for reporting, testing, data validation, and data quality.
  • Ability to independently manage complex technical initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience with API integration.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior developers.
  • Experience developing enterprise-scale self-service analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, security, and quality-control practices.

This is a contract opportunity with the possibility of converting to a permanent position for the right candidate.
