Financial Analyst/IT Capitalization Accountant - W2 only

The following requirement is open with our client.                               

Title                                     : Financial Analyst/ IT Capitalization Accountant

Location                             : San Francisco, CA(Onsite)

Pay Rate                             : $55 - $59/hr on W2

Duration                            : 6+ Months

Relevant Experience (in Yrs.): 8+yrs.

Role Description:

Key Responsibilities

•       Support IT capitalization and accounting processes in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP, including treatment of internal use software and technology projects.

•       Review and assess IT project costs to determine capitalization vs. expense eligibility based on accounting standards and company policies.

•       Perform capital accounting activities related to IT assets, including capitalization, amortization, impairment, retirement, and asset transfers.

•       Maintain accurate books of accounts by recording journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and adjustments related to capital and operating costs.

•       Partner with IT, PMO, and Finance teams to validate project data, capitalization triggers, and lifecycle milestones.

Required Qualifications:

•       Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.

•       4–8 years of experience in financial accounting or financial analysis, with exposure to IT or project-based capitalization.

•       Strong working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, particularly related to capital accounting and internal use software.

•       Hands on experience in bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and month end close.

•       Experience analyzing project costs, capitalization criteria, and asset lifecycle accounting.

•       Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

•       Proficiency in MS Excel for analysis and reporting.

•       Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, PMO, and cross functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

•       Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent (or actively pursuing).

•       Experience working in technology heavy or large enterprise environments.

•       Exposure to ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar).

•       Familiarity with capital governance frameworks and project financial controls.

•       Experience supporting SOX, audit, or compliance reviews related to IT spend.
