Job Details

A large, well-established homebuilding company headquartered in Scottsdale is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer III to join their core IT infrastructure team. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule, requiring 2 days onsite in a Phoenix-based data center and 3 days remote. This role focuses on supporting predominantly prem Windows environments, with hands-on responsibility across systems administration, virtualization, automation, and data center operations.
This is a true senior infrastructure role with ownership and visibility across critical enterprise systems. You'll be the 4th engineer on a lean infrastructure team (7 total on the team), working closely with networking and security while avoiding siloed work. If you enjoy combining hands on data center work, PowerShell automation, and enterprise-scale systems engineering, without being buried in helpdesk or ticket-only work, this role offers strong technical depth and long term upside.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of infrastructure or systems engineering experience
  • Strong Windows Server Systems Administration background
  • Hands-on Active Directory & Group Policy experience
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills
  • Experience working in a physical data center environment
  • Comfortable collaborating with network engineering team
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Veeam backup experience
  • Prior exposure to Fortinet environments
  • Enterprise on-prem infrastructure experience

  • 15% - Virtualization support (primarily Hyper-V; VMware acceptable)
  • 15% - PowerShell scripting & automation (advanced level)
  • 10% - Data center operations (racking/stacking, hardware installs, RAM, break/fix)
