Network Engineer - Data Center & Enterprise Networks

Employment Type: Contract (Conversion Eligible)
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and support large-scale enterprise and data center network environments. This role focuses on advanced routing, switching, and modern overlay technologies within Cisco Nexus and Arista platforms. The ideal candidate has strong technical depth, proven enterprise experience, and excellent documentation and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, and support LAN, WAN, and data center network solutions for large enterprise environments
  • Implement and maintain routing and switching solutions using Cisco Nexus and Arista platforms
  • Deploy and support advanced networking technologies including VXLAN, EVPN, MLAG, and multicast
  • Configure and maintain IP routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and RIP
  • Ensure network performance, reliability, and scalability through QoS and traffic engineering best practices
  • Participate in change management processes using ServiceNow
  • Create and maintain detailed technical design and network documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in an agile environment using Atlassian Jira tools
  • Support troubleshooting and issue resolution across complex network environments
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience (or equivalent combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education)
  • 5+ years of experience configuring routing and switching solutions on modern platforms (Cisco Nexus and/or Arista)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP)
  • 5+ years of experience designing LAN/WAN/Data Center network solutions for large enterprises
  • Hands-on experience with VXLAN overlay networking
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNA, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, or CCIE Data Center certification
  • Strong understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) supporting enterprise standards
  • Advanced knowledge of Layer 2 technologies: Spanning Tree, Trunking, EtherChannel
  • Experience with MLAG, EVPN, CVP, Multicast, HSRP, CBWFQ, DSCP, NAT/SNAT
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, and domain services
  • Experience with Python, Ansible, and GitHub for network automation
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Visio Professional
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain engineering design documentation
