About the Role

As a contingent Software Engineer, you will work on complex, high-impact initiatives that require deep technical expertise and strategic collaboration. You will analyze and solve large-scale, long-term engineering challenges, contribute to system design and infrastructure automation, and partner closely with stakeholders to deliver compliant, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities

• Lead and consult on complex software engineering initiatives with broad organizational impact.
• Analyze and resolve multi-faceted engineering problems that require evaluation of technical, operational, and non-standard factors.
• Design, build, and maintain automation solutions using Python and shell scripting across multiple environments.
• Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• Build, deploy, and operate containerized applications using Kubernetes and OpenShift, including persistent storage and observability solutions.
• Support hybrid and cloud-based environments, including integrations with AWS and Azure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business requirements, policies, and compliance standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for automation and systems engineering.
• Strong experience with shell scripting for Linux-based, system-level tasks.
• Experience working in Linux environments and automating infrastructure at scale.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Experience supporting cloud or hybrid-cloud environments and enterprise-scale deployments.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional - include if applicable)

• Experience designing and maintaining JVM-based system structures across environments.
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging tools in containerized systems.
• Strong communication skills and experience partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
