About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a large, enterprise-scale organization in the retail and consumer services industry to identify a senior User Experience Designer with exceptional visual design and strategic storytelling expertise. This role supports a mature UX organization operating within a complex corporate environment and focuses on translating sophisticated UX operating concepts into clear, executive-ready communications.
This is not a production-only design role. The ideal candidate brings strong visual and information design craft, systems thinking, and end-to-end journey storytelling, with proven experience creating materials for leadership audiences.

Job Description
In this role, you will work closely with UX, Product, Design, Strategy, and Operations leaders to shape ambiguous inputs into polished, high-impact visual artifacts. You will help communicate how UX teams operate, create value, and drive outcomes across a large organization.
The successful candidate:

Understands how large-scale UX organizations function within complex enterprise environments
Translates that understanding into executive-ready visual communications, UX playbooks, engagement models, and operating model materials
Thinks holistically in terms of systems, journeys, and organizational interactions
Converts rough or incomplete inputs into thoughtful concepts, frameworks, diagrams, and presentation-ready materials
Works proactively and collaboratively, sharing work early and exploring multiple directions with stakeholders
Brings strong visual craft suited to leadership audiences: clear, concise, consistent, and polished
Exercises strong judgment to simplify complex topics without losing critical meaning

Core Responsibilities and Deliverables

UX Playbook materials: layouts, modules, diagrams, “how we work” visuals, engagement models, and operating model documentation
Executive presentation decks: concise PowerPoint presentations that clearly communicate context, insight, value, and recommendations
Case study and impact templates: reusable templates and narrative structures, plus 2–6 pilot case studies demonstrating measurable UX impact
Visual storytelling systems: reusable slide templates, icon libraries, chart and diagram styles, and content patterns
Journey and systems visualizations: service blueprints, experience flows, operating model diagrams, team interaction models, and simplified system maps

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in visual design, information design, or visual storytelling within digital product or UX environments
Demonstrated experience supporting UX, Product, Design, Strategy, or Operations teams
Strong portfolio showcasing executive-level presentations and leadership-facing storytelling artifacts
Proven ability to translate complex ideas, frameworks, and data into clear and compelling visual communication
Experience creating systems and journey diagrams, playbook-style documentation, templates, or operating model materials
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint / presentation tools and Figma
Excellent visual design fundamentals, including layout, hierarchy, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within large enterprise or matrixed organizations
Background supporting UX operating models or organizational transformation initiatives
Familiarity with storytelling for executive decision-making and change leadership

Portfolio and representative examples of relevant work are required for consideration.
