UX Designer - EBM Studio (Job Description)
Project overview & role expectations (one paragraph)
EBM Studio is an in-house enterprise application that enables teams to author and view application business models (workflows, business events, states, data entities/attributes) and then aggregate those models into an enterprise view supporting transparency into producer consumer relationships, data lineage, and data journeys, with downstream enablement for implementation artifacts used in the broader EBM ecosystem.
As the UX Designer, you will partner with product and engineering to shape end-to-end experiences across model visualization and editor workflows, ensuring designs are scalable for enterprise users, consistent with a component system, and accessible - while helping the team iterate quickly from concept, prototype to build-ready specifications.
Applications without portfolios will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Own UX design for key EBM Studio surfaces, including model visualizations and editor experiences (lifecycle-related UI).
- Translate complex product requirements into user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes (Figma), with clear annotations for engineers.
- Define and maintain UI patterns and reusable components aligned to the team s design system / Material components, ensuring consistency across the application.
- Incorporate accessibility considerations (keyboard navigation, focus states, contrast, semantic structure, readable density) into design specs and review cycles.
- Collaborate with engineering on feasibility and implementation details; provide UX QA during build to ensure fidelity and interaction quality.
- Assist with post-deployment troubleshooting and QA.
- Facilitate lightweight research: usability reviews with early adopters, rapid iteration based on feedback, and clear documentation of decisions.
- Work in an agile development environment leveraging continuous delivery.
Required qualifications (Must have)
- Figma design expertise: component-driven design, prototyping, responsive layouts, and handoff-ready specs.
- Strong understanding of Material components / component-based UI design and how to apply component rules to complex app experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to design with accessibility in mind.
- Proven collaboration skills with engineers and product partners; able to communicate tradeoffs.
Preferred qualifications (Nice to have)
- Comfortable designing for large data and data-dense interfaces (tables, filtering/search, progressive disclosure).
- Experience representing complex data relationships in UI (entity relationships, dependency graphs, lineage/flow maps).
- Experience designing enterprise-level applications: information density, role-based usage patterns, auditability/compliance sensibilities, and power user workflows.
- Familiarity with data graphing and topology/graph representations (e.g., ERD-like visualization, navigation/zoom/pan patterns), including interaction patterns for exploring relationships at scale.
- Familiarity with React considerations in design.
