Summary

The Senior Project Manager will lead the end-to-end implementation of new Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) modules and components. The role will manage project scope, schedule, budget, implementation planning, risks, vendors, state teams, and project deliverables.
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years Project Management experience in technology projects within:
    • Healthcare
    • State Government
  • 5+ years experience with change management, organizing training, and communications to support successful rollout of new systems and processes.
  • 5+ years experience with system and data conversion from legacy systems to new systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong ability to manage deadlines and critical paths.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize data aggregation, analytics, and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to identify issues early and work with management to resolve them.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders and develop strategies for stakeholder/community awareness and support.
Preferred Skills:
  • 5+ years experience with Idaho state agencies.
  • 5+ years experience with state Medicaid agencies.
  • Experience with Medicaid/MMIS implementations.
  • Legacy system modernization and data conversion.
  • Change management and training.
  • Experience coordinating large, complex vendor implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead implementation of new MMIS modules and components from beginning to end.
  • Define and manage:
    • Project schedule
    • Scope
    • Budget
    • Implementation plan
    • Risk mitigation plan
  • Coordinate with multiple vendors and project managers through the master schedule and project governance processes.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Ensure project requirements and deliverables are aligned with EDW requirements.
  • Coordinate resources across vendors and state teams.
  • Manage planning, implementation, go-live, and certification activities.
  • Analyze project progress and adjust plans when necessary.
  • Maintain relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Provide project updates to appropriate audiences.
  • Present project progress to department executives and the legislative body.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and project communications.
  • Support successful transition to new systems and processes.
Important Work Requirements:
  • Hybrid position.
  • Candidate must be available onsite in Boise, Idaho, 2–3 days per week.
  • Candidate should be local to the Boise area.
  • Candidate must be available for either an in-person or virtual interview.
Education:
Preferred:
4-year college degree.
