Role Summary
This executive-level leadership role oversees the end-to-end Machine Learning function, setting the strategic direction for how AI and ML capabilities power enterprise outcomes. The leader is accountable for aligning product strategy, applied science, and engineering execution to deliver scalable, production-grade ML systems. This role plays a critical part in shaping how AI drives measurable value across operations and foundational platforms.

The position owns the overall machine learning roadmap, guides scientific research priorities, and ensures the underlying infrastructure supports long-term scalability and governance. Close partnership with adjacent AI and systems leaders ensures ML capabilities serve as a core pillar of enterprise-wide AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Define and own the machine learning roadmap across value, science, and engineering tracks, aligning priorities with enterprise AI strategy and business goals
• Lead, mentor, and develop senior leaders and individual contributors across ML product, applied science, and ML engineering functions
• Partner with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact machine learning use cases across operations and customer-facing functions
• Establish governance standards, performance monitoring, and responsible AI practices for all production ML models
• Oversee the full ML lifecycle, from research and experimentation through deployment and ongoing optimization
• Collaborate with adjacent AI platform and systems teams to ensure ML models integrate seamlessly with broader AI infrastructure
• Drive alignment between technical innovation, cost efficiency, and measurable business value

Key Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or AI engineering, with at least 4 years leading technical teams
• Demonstrated success delivering enterprise-scale, production machine learning systems with measurable business impact
• Deep expertise in ML systems design, MLOps, and managing the full ML lifecycle
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across product management, data science, and engineering
• Strong understanding of ML economics, including compute cost management, performance trade-offs, and ROI measurement
• Knowledge of responsible AI, model governance, fairness, explainability, and regulatory considerations
• Familiarity with modern ML tooling such as feature stores, model registries, experimentation frameworks, and model serving platforms
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to translate complex ML concepts into actionable business strategy
