Senior Fortinet Network Security Architect

100% Remote Position
Design, architect, and implement enterprise-grade network security solutions using Fortinet Security Fabric (FortiGate NGFW, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, SD-WAN, SASE, and FortiSASE).
Lead network segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, and secure access service edge (SASE) deployments.
Develop reference architectures, high-level/low-level designs (HLD/LLD), migration strategies, and integration plans for multi-cloud, hybrid, or on-premises environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Provide technical leadership and consulting to clients on firewall policies, VPN (IPSec/SSL), routing (BGP/OSPF), load balancing, and threat prevention (IPS, AV, sandboxing).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, delivery, engineering) for pre-sales support, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and post-sales implementation.
Conduct security assessments, gap analyses, and optimization of existing Fortinet deployments.
Mentor junior engineers and create documentation, runbooks, and best practices.
Stay current with Fortinet product roadmaps, certifications (NSE 7/8), and emerging threats.
8–12+ years of experience in network security architecture and engineering.
Deep expertise in Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, SD-WAN, Fabric Management, SASE/Zero Trust).
Strong background in networking protocols, routing/switching, and security (firewalls, VPN, micro-segmentation).
Experience with multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.) is a plus.
Cloud networking experience (AWS Transit Gateway, Azure VNet, etc.).
Relevant certifications: Fortinet NSE 7 Enterprise Firewall, NSE 8, CCIE Security, CISSP, or equivalent.
Excellent communication, documentation, and client-facing skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with travel as needed (typically minimal for 100% remote roles).
Automation/scripting (Python, Ansible, FortiAutomation).
Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government).
