About the Role We are looking for an experienced Release Management Engineer to own and drive the end-toend release process across Marriott''s enterprise application portfolio. The ideal candidate has a strong background in release/deployment coordination, CI/CD pipelines, and environment management within large, complex, multi-team enterprise settings, and is skilled at balancing speed of delivery with stability and compliance. Key Responsibilities • Plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end release management activities across multiple application teams and environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Staging, Production). • Own the release calendar, manage release schedules, and coordinate go/no-go decisions with stakeholders across engineering, QA, product, and infrastructure teams. • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) to support automated build, test, and deployment processes. • Manage version control branching strategies (Git/GitFlow), build artifacts, and dependency management across releases. • Coordinate deployment activities, including code freezes, smoke testing, rollback plans, and post-release validation. • Track and manage release risks, dependencies, and issues; drive resolution with crossfunctional teams. • Maintain release documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, and change management records. • Partner with Change Advisory Board (CAB) and ensure compliance with change management/ITIL processes. • Monitor release metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, MTTR) and drive continuous improvement in release processes. • Support incident/rollback coordination during production releases and post-deployment issue triage. • Collaborate with DevOps/Infrastructure teams on environment provisioning, configuration management, and release automation tooling. Required Skills • Experience: 8+ years in Release Management, DevOps, or Build & Release Engineering roles within enterprise environments • CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bamboo • Version Control: Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket; strong understanding of branching and merge strategies • Build Tools: Maven, Gradle, or npm/yarn (depending on stack) • Containerization/Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (exposure to deployment strategies like blue-green, canary) • Cloud Platforms: AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform — release/deployment experience in cloud environments • Change/Incident Management: ITIL processes, ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar ITSM tools • Scripting: Shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell for release automation • Monitoring/Reporting: Familiarity with dashboards/tools like Splunk, Grafana, or Dynatrace for release health tracking Nice to Have • Experience in the travel/hospitality domain • Exposure to microservices-based release coordination across multiple interdependent services • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) • Experience with Agile/Scrum and SAFe release train coordination • Knowledge of AI-assisted DevOps/release tooling Soft Skills • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills across engineering, QA, product, and business teams • Excellent communication skills — able to clearly report release statrisks to leadership • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills • Ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure during production releases/incidents • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
