Description
ROLE OVERVIEW
In this contractor role, you will work within the organization to plan, execute, and deliver strategic programs that drive standardization, efficiency, and innovation across our quality engineering teams. You may independently own programs end-to-end or work in close partnership with a lead EPM. A successful candidate is equally comfortable thinking strategically - shaping a program vision, defining priorities, and building alignment - and executing tactically, rolling up their sleeves to drive day-to-day delivery. Strong analytical instincts, a structured approach to research and discovery, a bias for action, and systems thinking are essential to thriving in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research, Analysis & Discovery
Conduct discovery through interviews, surveys, usability tests, and systems deep-dives to identify areas impacting team velocity and user experience
Apply structured research techniques (e.g., UX Research, HCI, Behavioral Science) to ensure rigor and reliability in findings
Synthesize qualitative and analytical findings into clear, polished artifacts - process maps, technical diagrams, wireframes, and recommendations - that enable informed decisions
Produce well-organized research reports that translate user insights directly into product and tooling guidance
Project Planning & Delivery
Own and maintain the PRD, clearly defining scope, requirements, and success criteria in partnership with engineering and stakeholders
Drive prioritization discussions, facilitate trade-off decisions, and build alignment on what to build and when
Own the full delivery lifecycle - from requirements gathering and scoping through execution, launch, and post-launch monitoring
Build and maintain detailed project plans with clear milestones, dependencies, owners, and success criteria
Track progress against KPIs, proactively surface risks and blockers, and drive issues to resolution
Apply change management frameworks to guide the team through tooling and process transitions
Collaboration & Communication
Partner closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to align on priorities, requirements, and shared outcomes
Communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats
Create and deliver user resources and communications to drive successful adoption of new tools and processes
Give and receive timely feedback to keep teams aligned and programs on track
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
5+ years in engineering product management, or related roles
Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level - from shaping program vision to hands-on delivery
Proven track record of owning and delivering complex technical programs end-to-end, including PRD authorship and stakeholder alignment
Strong project planning skills - experienced with milestones, dependency mapping, and risk management
Solid analytical rigor; able to synthesize complex findings into actionable requirements and recommendations
Proficiency with collaboration tools (e.g., Keynote, Miro, Confluence, Jira/similar ticketing tools)
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Understanding of software development and testing principles (e.g., test automation, triage)
Hands-on user research experience (interviews, usability testing) with ability to produce structured findings
Familiarity with UX research methodologies, HCI principles, or Behavioral Science
Familiarity with GenAI tools and LLMs for rapid iteration
