Genesis10 is currently seeking a Mainframe Cobol Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves providing mainframe application production support, ensuring the successful completion of the daily batch cycle. The ideal candidate will address production issues, research data anomalies, and develop solutions to production failures in a high-availability environment. This position requires 24x7 on-call support on a recurring basis.
Responsibilities: - Ensure successful completion of daily batch cycle
- Respond to inquiries and questions from LOB partners
- Research data anomalies and root causes of issues
- Address production Abends in a timely manner
- Design and develop solutions to production failures
- Perform reviews of the application team design and coding and recommend improvements
- Provide on-call support on a recurring basis, including weekends and holidays
- Monitor production as needed to ensure processing is BAU (Business As Usual)
Requirements: - Experience in Mainframe Application Production Support
- Proficiency with Cobol
- Experience with JCL/ECL
- Knowledge of DB2 and SQL
- Experience with standard IBM Mainframe Utilities and DB2 Utilities
- Experience with BMC, SYNCSORT, and NDM
Desired skills: - Experience with Credit Card Applications
- Experience with FileManager
- Experience with Easytrieve
Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
