Role Overview
We are seeking a highimpact Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect to provide architectural leadership, handson engineering, and operational excellence across Client s AWS cloud platform and onprem data center environments.
In this role, you will architect, build, and operate Client s missioncritical hybrid infrastructure, integrating modern AWS cloud platforms with onpremises technologies. Your responsibilities span compute, storage, virtualization, automation, security, monitoring, and lifecycle management, all essential to Client s global logistics and transportation ecosystem.
You will design and integrate technologies including VMware vSphere/vSAN, Nutanix, Cisco UCS/HX, and storage/backup systems with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, and Lambda. This role requires the ability to independently own either cloud or datacenter domains endtoend while leading modernization efforts and implementing automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Puppet, along with CI/CD pipelines and scripting.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree (preferred) in computer science, information systems, or other discipline.
- 8+ years of experience with both data center and AWS cloud environments.
- Handson experience with VMware vSphere/vSAN, ESXi, vCenter, Windows Server administration, Linux systems administration (RHEL/Ubuntu preferred), enterprise compute/storage, and backup solutions,
- Linux administration experience (RHEL/Ubuntu preferred).
- Deep AWS expertise: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda.
- Strong InfrastructureasCode experience (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD automation.
- Strong networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls) and hybrid security controls.
- Experience with Infoblox (DNS/DHCP/IPAM).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools for VDI/EUC environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work crossfunctionally.
- Ability to independently manage cloud or datacenter domains endtoend.
- Proven ability to document, present, and communicate complex infrastructure designs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hybrid environments.
- Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ in alignment with Client s collaborationfocused culture.
