Business analyst

The ideal candidate will have experience gathering and analyzing business requirements, preparing functional documentation, developing test plans, executing software testing, and coordinating defect resolution within an Agile environment.

This role requires a professional who can work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and project teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and ensure applications meet functional and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Analysis

• Gather, analyze, document, and refine business and technical requirements.
• Develop user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze business processes and create workflow diagrams and process documentation.
• Prepare functional specifications, reports, and user documentation.
• Evaluate existing business processes, system capabilities, and controls.
• Identify requirement gaps and recommend process improvements.
• Translate business and operational requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Communicate technical changes and solutions effectively to business stakeholders.

2. Quality Assurance / Software Testing

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for new and existing applications.
• Validate application functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, track, and retest software defects.
• Review application logs, database records, and performance data to investigate issues.
• Develop automated tests and maintain test suites when appropriate.
• Document test results, test coverage, defects, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with development teams to resolve defects and ensure release readiness.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-implementation validation.

3. Agile Collaboration

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Work closely with product owners, developers, program staff, and stakeholders.
• Support requirements clarification, sprint planning, and acceptance testing.
• Ensure deliverables meet business expectations and established quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong experience in Business Analysis and Quality Assurance (BA/QA).
• Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
• Hands-on experience developing user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience creating functional specifications and process workflow diagrams.
• Strong experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
• Experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and retesting defects.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to analyze application logs, database records, and system behavior.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with business and technical teams.
