System Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and document existing Windows Server infrastructure, VMware virtual machines, application dependencies, and system configurations.

• Develop and support migration plans covering workload readiness, migration sequencing, cutover activities, validation procedures, and rollback strategies.

• Provision and configure AWS EC2 environments and execute workload migrations in collaboration with cloud architecture, networking, and security teams.

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including operating systems, system services, patch management, storage, and network connectivity.

• Manage and support VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts and vCenter, throughout the migration lifecycle.

• Perform post-migration validation to ensure server functionality, network connectivity, system performance, monitoring, and backup configurations are operating as expected.

• Identify and resolve migration-related issues and provide post-cutover support to ensure infrastructure stability and business continuity.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, migration runbooks, configuration inventories, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Adhere to established change management processes, security standards, and infrastructure operations policies.

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience in systems engineering, server administration, or enterprise infrastructure management.

• Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Practical experience managing VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.

• Hands-on experience provisioning, configuring, and supporting AWS EC2 instances.

• Working knowledge of AWS networking and security components, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and IAM.

• Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, TCP/IP networking, and server storage technologies.

• Experience participating in server migration projects, infrastructure modernization initiatives, or data center consolidation efforts.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues across operating systems, virtualization platforms, networking, and cloud infrastructure.

• Strong technical documentation, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Willingness and ability to work onsite at the designated location and support scheduled migration cutovers, maintenance windows, and related activities.
