Python Data Engineer

Introduction:

We are looking for an experienced Python Data Engineer / Quant Developer with 15+ years of IT experience and strong expertise in Python and SQL. The ideal candidate will work on data engineering, quantitative development, financial data processing, analytics, and high-performance data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data engineering solutions using Python and SQL
  • Work on quantitative development and financial data processing
  • Analyze and transform large-scale datasets
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes for data processing
  • Utilize data structures and algorithms for efficient data handling
  • Collaborate with teams to develop production-quality applications
  • Apply problem-solving skills for debugging and resolving issues
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • 15+ years of overall IT experience
  • Strong Python development skills
  • Advanced SQL and database development knowledge
  • Experience in quantitative development and financial data processing
  • Expertise in data engineering and ETL/ELT processes
  • Ability to analyze and transform data efficiently
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets
  • Preferably, knowledge of financial markets, Capital Markets, or Risk domain
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in developing production-quality applications
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Pandas and NumPy libraries
  • Familiarity with PySpark for data processing
  • Knowledge of REST APIs for data integration
  • Experience with cloud technologies for data management
  • Understanding of data warehouses and relational databases
  • Background in Market Risk, Quantitative Finance, or Trading systems
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and version control with Git
