Our client is seeking a Lead Data Analyst in Plantation, FL.
Job Description
As the technical and strategic lead of our Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE), you will be responsible for guiding the overall direction, governance, and administration of our business intelligence tools and platforms. This role will provide expertise in data analysis and visualization, particularly within Sigma which will be instrumental in advancing our self-service analytics capabilities, enabling informed and agile decision-making across the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) sector.
Responsibilities
Provide direction and oversight for the Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE), promoting best practices, data literacy, and a robust self-service culture across the organization.
Lead the selection, administration, and governance of all analytics toolsets (e.g., Tableau, Sigma, etc.), ensuring proper security, user access, and efficient usage.
Mentor and guide BI Analysts, setting technical standards for dashboard design, data quality, and documentation.
Facilitate training and enablement sessions for business users to maximize the value and adoption of our BI platforms.
Act as the primary bridge between complex business needs and technical data capabilities, translating requirements into actionable data solutions and visualizations.
Develop and maintain highly insightful, dashboards and reports using modern BI tools, with an emphasis on advanced functionalities within Sigma.
Perform sophisticated ad-hoc analysis and deep dives to address high-priority business questions and provide strategic insights to leadership.
Query, analyze, and interpret data from various sources (e.g., ERP, CRM, marketing platforms) using expert-level SQL to identify critical trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Collaborate closely with Analytics Engineers to ensure data models are optimized for reporting performance and meet demanding business requirements.
Champion data quality by actively monitoring reports, troubleshooting data discrepancies, and collaborating with engineering teams for resolution.
Requirements & Skills
7+ years in BI with hands-on ownership of BI platforms (not just reporting), including tool strategy, deployment, governance, and administration.
Strong experience with Sigma, especially platform deployment, configuration, advanced workbook development, and self-service enablement
Expert SQL plus strong understanding of cloud data environments and modern data stacks (Databricks, dimensional modeling, analytics engineering collaboration)
Hands-on experience with at least one other modern BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience defining KPIs, data standards, and governance frameworks across departments, with the ability to resolve cross-functional data alignment issues.
Strong front-end BI with working data engineering capability (Python, cloud, pipeline awareness) to bridge backend and analytics.
Ability to lead BI tool transitions (e.g., Tableau ? Sigma), including adoption, training, documentation, and change management.
Bachelor's Degree
7+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field
2+ years in a senior or lead-level position involving technical leadership, project ownership, or cross-functional analytics projects.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is a plus.
Extensive hands-on expertise with Sigma is required, including complex workbook development, advanced calculations, and platform administration features.
Expert proficiency in SQL with a demonstrated ability to write and optimize complex queries for data extraction and analysis across large datasets.
Hands-on experience with at least one other modern BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong working knowledge of data warehouse/lakehouse environments (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift) and dimensional modeling concepts.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and presentation skills, with the proven ability to influence stakeholders and clearly explain complex data findings.
Experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry.
Familiarity with data transformation tools like dbt.
Experience with data governance and data quality principles, particularly in a self-service environment.
Willingness to act as the primary administrator and technical owner of one or more BI toolsets.
