Position: Product Owner
Location: Irving, TX
Duration : 6 Month Contract-to-Hire
Rate Range: $50-60/hr
Position OverviewOur client, a growing organization in the insurance technology space, is seeking a Business Analyst / Product Owner to support homeowner insurance product initiatives. This role was created as part of a strategic shift combining traditional Product Owner and Business Analyst responsibilities into a single, highly collaborative position.
The individual will work closely with cross-functional product, engineering, and business stakeholders to support both existing and new insurance products. While the role leans more heavily toward Business Analysis, there are workstreams where the individual will operate with a Product Manager mindset-particularly as new products are introduced and owned through their lifecycle.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Partner closely with product and engineering teams to gather, document, and refine business and technical requirements
- Serve as the primary owner of requirements through development, testing, and release
- Support UAT efforts, including creation of UAT test plans, test cases, and execution support
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
- Document processes, workflows, and integrations to support regulated product delivery
- Track work and progress using tools such as JIRA, TFS, or Azure DevOps
- Collaborate with technical teams to support API-driven integrations
- Assist with product ownership responsibilities as new products are introduced, including backlog grooming and prioritization
- Operate effectively in a regulated environment where products require approval from governing bodies (e.g., state-level review)

Required Qualifications- Strong background in Business Analysis and Product Ownership, including:
- Requirements gathering
- UAT testing and test plan creation
- Process and workflow documentation
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts and work effectively with engineering teams
- Experience using JIRA, TFS, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for tracking work
- Familiarity with API-based integrations and backend system interactions
- Experience working in a regulated environment (financial services, insurance, healthcare, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications (Plusses)- Prior experience supporting insurance products, especially homeowner insurance
- Exposure to product management responsibilities (formal Product Manager background not required)
- CSPO or similar certifications are not required
