Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Java and Playwright to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Java, hands-on experience with Playwright automation, and a solid understanding of modern QA methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Java and Playwright.
• Create and execute automated UI, functional, regression, and integration tests.
• Develop reusable and scalable automation scripts and testing components.
• Work closely with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and business teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
• Analyze requirements and create detailed test cases, test scenarios, and automation plans.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and document software defects and work with development teams to resolve them.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Execute tests across different browsers and environments.
• Perform API testing and validate backend services when required.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Improve test automation coverage, framework reliability, and execution efficiency.
• Perform root-cause analysis for automation and application failures.
• Contribute to overall quality engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / SDET / Automation Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Experience developing and maintaining UI automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Selenium or similar automation tools is a plus.
• Experience with API testing using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or similar.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Java fundamentals.
• Experience with TestNG, JUnit, or similar testing frameworks.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle and Git.
• Experience integrating automated tests with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Strong understanding of SQL/database validation.
• Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Playwright using Java in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with microservices and distributed applications.
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with performance or security testing is a plus.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience working in a CI/CD and DevOps environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
