Role SummaryThe Lead Project Manager, Marketing Operations leads cross-functional delivery of marketing technology implementations and operational improvement initiatives. This role supports projects spanning marketing operations, marketing technology platforms, and lead lifecycle processes.
The position operates as a Lead individual contributor with broad cross-functional influence. It is well-suited for a project manager who is comfortable establishing lightweight structures, partnering with Lead technical and business stakeholders, and delivering complex initiatives from planning through completion in evolving environments.
Core ResponsibilitiesProject Management for Technical Implementations- Lead end-to-end delivery of marketing technology initiatives, including platform implementations, integrations, process changes, and post-launch stabilization
- Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and communication strategies for multiple concurrent initiatives
- Coordinate delivery efforts across marketing operations, technology teams, external partners, and vendors, ensuring decisions and handoffs are clearly documented
- Support operational readiness activities such as testing coordination, training planning, cutover support, and post-launch follow-up
- Translate technical progress into clear, business-focused status updates for non-technical stakeholders
Operational Improvement Initiatives- Lead cross-functional operational improvement projects related to campaign workflows, lead handoff processes, reporting consistency, and team operating practices
- Partner with functional leaders to identify process gaps, define improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives to completion
- Establish practical intake, prioritization, and tracking approaches to maintain visibility across multiple workstreams
- Document workflows, decisions, and operating practices to support long-term sustainability
Cross-Functional Coordination- Serve as the operational point of contact across marketing teams, technology partners, sales operations, finance, and external vendors for assigned projects
- Identify dependencies, risks, and resource constraints early and facilitate alignment on resolution approaches
- Facilitate project working sessions, stakeholder reviews, and status updates to maintain alignment on scope, timelines, and trade-offs
- Collaborate with technology and lead lifecycle partners to ensure sequencing, readiness, and capacity considerations are addressed
Reporting and Visibility- Provide regular project status updates to marketing operations leadership, including progress, risks, decisions, and resource considerations
- Develop leadership-ready reporting across the portfolio of active technology and operational initiatives
- Maintain a centralized source of truth for project scope, ownership, milestones, and decisions
QualificationsRequired- Experience in program or project management, including ownership of cross-functional initiatives with technical components
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects through delivery
- Familiarity with marketing operations, marketing technology, or lead management environments sufficient to collaborate effectively with technical and business partners
- Experience creating structure and visibility (e.g., intake, status tracking, risk management) in environments without fully established frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear summaries
- Experience working with stakeholders across marketing, operations, technology, and finance functions
- Familiarity with work management or project tracking tools (e.g., Workfront, Airtable, or similar platforms)
Preferred- Project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent)
- Exposure to marketing technology platforms or digital analytics tools
- Experience working in both Agile and plan-driven delivery environments
Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of specific credentials.
Success Indicators (First Six Months)- Multiple active projects are operating on documented plans with clear visibility into status, risks, and decisions
- Cross-functional partners describe delivery as predictable, coordinated, and transparent
- Leadership has consistent visibility into the project portfolio without reliance on ad hoc status requests
- Practical intake and prioritization practices are established to support ongoing operational needs
