Telecommunications SuperintendentOverview:We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Superintendent to oversee and manage all on-site field operations for telecommunications installation projects. This leadership role is responsible for directing crews, ensuring quality and safety standards, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving projects to completion on time and within scope. The Superintendent serves as the primary liaison between field teams and project leadership.
Responsibilities:- Supervise day-to-day field operations across telecommunications projects, including fiber optics, structured cabling, and voice/data installations
- Lead and manage large teams of up to 40-50 technicians in enterprise-level environments
- Coordinate workforce scheduling, labor allocation, and subcontractor activities
- Oversee job site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment usage, and inventory management
- Ensure all work meets industry standards and specifications (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA) and adheres to safety regulations
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and inspectors
- Conduct site inspections and enforce quality control across all installations
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to fiber optics and telecom infrastructure
- Collaborate with project managers to track progress, update schedules, and forecast labor and material needs
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, reports, and timesheets
- Enforce company policies, OSHA safety standards, and job site rules
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, or a related field
- Minimum 2+ years of experience supervising field operations
- Proven experience managing large teams (40+ technicians) in enterprise environments
- Experience with fiber splicing, including splice tray setup and fiber termination
- Experience working with high fiber counts (144+ strands)
- Proficiency with fiber testing, including OTDR usage
- Experience working within fiber matrices
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical documentation
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure (fiber, copper, low voltage systems)
- Familiarity with industry color codes and installation standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements
Preferred Qualifications:- Technical certifications or coursework in telecommunications or construction management
- BICSI Installer, Technician, or RCDD certification
- OSHA 30 certification
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience working in large-scale data center or mission-critical environments
Work Environment & Schedule:- Monday - Saturday schedule, typically 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Active construction and data center environments
- Must be comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds
- Travel may be required within regional project areas

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
