Azure APIM Developer (Axway migration)

Role Summary

• Build and migrate APIs from Axway to APIM.

• Write C# / XML-based backend logic and APIM policies.

• Implement OAuth 2.0 and certificate-based authentication securely.

• Work with DevOps, CI/CD, and Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault).

• Understand security patterns like SSL client certificate validation and principal propagation.

• Support end-to-end API monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Bring experience with container platforms (Docker/K8s), which will help with self-hosted gateways

Key Responsibilities

API Design Development

• Design develop and maintain RESTful APIs aligned with enterprise standards

• Create and manage API proxies routes and policies within the APIM platform

• Implement API versioning throttling caching transformation and routing

• API Security

• Implement security mechanisms such as OAuth 20 JWT mutual SSL mTLS and RBAC

• Manage certificates keys and secrets for secure API communication

• Ensure APIs comply with security audit and governance standards

• APIM Platform Administration

• Configure and manage API gateways clusters and environments DevTestProd

• Deploy APIs using CICD pipelines and automate releases

• Monitor API performance logs and usage metrics

Integration Migration

• Integrate APIs with microservices backend systems and cloud services

• Support API migration initiatives eg Axway Azure APIM

• Troubleshoot and resolve APIrelated issues and performance bottlenecks

• Documentation Governance

• Create and maintain API documentation using Swagger OpenAPI

• Ensure CMDB and technical documentation are updated

• Participate in audits and governance reviews for APIM compliance

• Scripting knowledge in Groovy PowerShell or Bash is preferred
