RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Houston, TX in search of a Technical Lead. This is a hybrid role which requires 2 days remote and 3 days onsite. Our client is seeking a senior, hands-on Technical Lead to act as a code quality gatekeeper across the team. This role is focused on improving code quality, maintainability, and long-term stability, not people management or feature ownership.
Responsibilities:
* Perform deep, hands-on review of existing codebases
* Lead and conduct peer code reviews across the team
* Enforce coding standards, principles, and best practices
* Identify code-related risks including defects, regressions, and architectural issues
* Evaluate downstream impact of code changes before release
* Provide big-picture technical guidance to developers who are delivery-focused
* Serve as the primary point of accountability for overall code quality
Technical Environment:
* Desktop-heavy applications
* WPF/MVVM frameworks
* Regression testing awareness
REQUIREMENTS:
* Senior-level development background with strong WPF/MVVM framework hands-on development experience
* Proven experience leading or owning code review and quality standards
* Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns
* Ability to assess and remediate technical risk
* Comfortable working cross-team without direct authority
Nice to Have:
* Prior experience in regulated or complex engineering environments
* Experience stepping into existing teams to improve quality and standards
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
