About the RoleWe're looking for a
Senior Grafana BI Engineer to take ownership of a high-impact dashboard environment and transform it into a
scalable, intuitive user experience. This is not a "build more dashboards" role-you'll focus on
re-architecting and improving an existing ecosystem, making it easier for users to
navigate, interpret, and act on data in real time. This role requires a strong focus on usability and design, ensuring dashboards are intuitive, fast, and effective in high-pressure scenarios.
What You'll Do- Consolidate fragmented dashboards into a cohesive, structured system
- Design clear hierarchy and navigation (executive operational detailed)
- Create seamless user journeys across dashboards
- Simplify complex data for real-time decision-making
These dashboards
are widely used across technical teams and leadership, often in time-sensitive scenarios where clarity and speed directly impact decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop advanced Grafana dashboards with a strong focus on UX and scalability
- Restructure and streamline existing dashboards into a connected, intuitive experience
- Build drilldowns, reusable components, and consistent design patterns
- Implement best practices for:
- Query reuse
- Parameterization
- Dashboard governance and organization
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights
- Partner with stakeholders to improve how data supports real-time decision-making
- Optimize dashboards for high-pressure scenarios where speed and clarity are essential
Required QualificationsCore Skills- 7+ years of hands-on Grafana experience in production environments
- Dashboarding, navigation, plugins, parameterization
- 7+ years of data visualization and UX design
- Strong understanding of user behavior and usability
- Ability to design intuitive experiences for both technical and business users
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Building scalable, efficient, and reusable queries
- Structuring data for performance and visualization
- Strong data storytelling skills
- Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to diverse audiences
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Kusto (KQL) or similar query languages
- Background working with telemetry, observability, or monitoring data
- Experience in large-scale or high-availability environments
- Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Power BI, or Tableau

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
