Part Time CISO/Senior Cyber Consultant

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Stamford, CT that is seeking a Part Time CISO/Senior Cyber Consultant.

Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced cybersecurity professional to provide fractional vCISO support for a growing organization. This role requires the ability to step into active incident situations, lead response efforts, and manage core security program functions across governance, risk, and compliance. The engagement will begin at approximately 10-15 hours per week, tapering to 7-10 hours per week once steady state is reached. On-call availability for security incidents is required.

Key Responsibilities:
* Act as primary point of contact for security incidents; lead investigation, containment, and remediation
* Manage and mature the security program aligned to the NIST CSF
* Perform gap assessments, track remediation plans, and support compliance readiness
* Lead third-party and supply chain security risk activities
* Oversee incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and crisis coordination
* Manage security policies, awareness training, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing
* Maintain risk registers and provide regular security status reporting
* Support security questionnaires and RFP responses as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience (individual contributor, not a firm)
* Strong incident response and crisis management experience
* Deep working knowledge of NIST CSF; GDPR/UK data protection familiarity required
* Comfortable jumping into active incidents with minimal ramp-up
* Experience with third-party/supply chain risk and PE-backed environments preferred
* Basic awareness of AI-related security considerations

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
