Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Warehouse Migration Specialist/ Architect with 10-15 years of experience to lead large-scale data and application migration initiatives to the Azure Cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data warehousing, SQL, and lift-and-shift migration strategies, along with hands-on experience in end-to-end cloud transformation projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10-15 years of overall IT experience with strong focus on Data Warehousing and SQL.
  • Proven experience in Azure Cloud migrations, especially lift-and-shift approaches.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Azure Data Services (Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory)
    • Data warehouse design and optimization
    • Large-scale data migration projects
  • Strong expertise in SQL performance tuning and database management.
  • Experience migrating the following components:
    • Applications
    • Data Warehouse
    • SQL Databases
  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security.
  • Prior experience in the Insurance industry will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute end-to-end migration to Azure Cloud, including applications, data warehouse, and SQL databases.
  • Design and implement lift-and-shift migration strategies with minimal downtime and risk.
  • Assess existing on-premise systems and define migration roadmaps and architectures.
  • Migrate and modernize data warehouse solutions to Azure (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure SQL).
  • Manage data migration, validation, and performance tuning post-migration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance throughout migration lifecycle.
  • Optimize cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modernization beyond lift-and-shift (re-architecture, re-platforming).
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data pipelines.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer).
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
