Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer III to join our agile squad. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in object-oriented development, mainframe or open-systems programming, SQL, and version control and a proven ability to deliver new features with quality while adhering to risk and security practices.
Responsibilities:
- Implement new features while maintaining software quality and reliability.
- Document and share technical knowledge to support a learning culture within the squad.
- Follow best practices, participate in code reviews, and engage with developer communities of practice.
- Stay current on relevant technology trends and apply them appropriately.
- Research and resolve customer issues in collaboration with peers and stakeholders.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and risk frameworks to support a positive customer experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or comparable field.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design and development in one or more languages such as COBOL, SAS, or other open-system languages.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with version control solutions, preferably Git or GitHub.
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle and security best practices for software development.
- Understanding of basic networking and firewall concepts.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Up to 5 years of software development experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Snowflake ecosystem tools such as Elevate, Switchboard, and DBT.
- Experience with ETL processes and sFTP-based file movement.
- Active mainframe development experience.
- Prior work in Agile environments with participation in code reviews and communities of practice.
