This role focuses on structuring, sequencing, and enhancing the customer web journey experience. The position involves applying taxonomy and information architecture principles to organize content, designing experiences using design system components, and ensuring clarity, accessibility, and consistency. This is a collaborative role that requires working closely with designers and content strategists, independently managing tasks, and delivering high-quality content-driven experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Design content-first layouts by applying information sequencing, hierarchy, and structure to support comprehension and task completion.
  • Execute work using existing content patterns, taxonomy, design system components, and CMS workflows; identify and communicate limitations.
  • Support sitemaps, URL structures, and information architecture in collaboration with designers and content strategists.
  • Write and edit clear, user-centered copy for pages, UI text, transactional flows, and error/empty states aligned with voice, tone, and UX patterns.
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusive content practices across headings, links, alt text, and error/assistive messaging.
  • Collaborate with content strategists, writers, designers, and cross-functional partners; work independently and bring work forward for review.
  • Participate in content audits and knowledge-centered design activities, identifying gaps and proposing improvements.
  • Apply design system guidelines, patterns, and templates; recommend improvements to support clarity and consistency.
  • Apply SEO fundamentals and on-page optimization practices to enhance findability and comprehension.
  • Recommend imagery that supports clarity, meaning, and accessibility while aligning with brand standards.
  • Engage in Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, standups, demos, and reviews; communicate risks and dependencies proactively.
Qualifications:
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for creating empowering experiences.
  • 2+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or related roles producing digital product or web content.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with clear communication and presentation abilities.
  • A portfolio demonstrating experience with information architecture, microcopy, structure, and systems and pattern usage; enterprise design experience preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, developers, researchers, and business stakeholders in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using design systems, component libraries, and content patterns to create consistent experiences.
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and ability to apply taxonomy concepts; CMS experience preferred.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive content practices (headings, alt text recommendations, link clarity, error messaging).
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including participation in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and delivery ceremonies.
  • Experience working on a corporate design team or in utility, energy, or regulated industries is a plus.
